Loyola Academy Academics
Loyola Academy offers an inquiry-based, rigorous curriculum that guides students to independence and self-discovery.
The Loyola Academy student will be prepared to meet the academic challenges of high school, with an awareness of the needs of society and a commitment to Christian beliefs and values. Our graduates will have completed a middle school program that has thoroughly prepared them for their future – intellectually, spiritually, and socially.
Students learn to produce high quality work, which fully and thoughtfully reflects their understanding of academic content. They will have developed a battery of academic skills needed to think critically, express their thoughts coherently, speak confidently, and ask meaningful, pertinent questions that further their academic development. Upon graduation, the Saint Columbkille student will have acquired a strong base of knowledge in each of the major content areas and mastered the following academic study skills necessary to succeed at the college preparatory level:
- Organization – Students will know how to effectively organize their school supplies in a way that contributes to their academic growth
- Note-taking – Students will know how to keep an organized notebook of readings and classroom experiences that can be used as a resource for studying and academic growth
- Time-Management – Students will have grown to become independent learners who prioritize their time and talents to maximize learning experiences.
