At Saint Columbkille Partnership School, teachers and staff continuously educate students on the importance of giving back. Once a month, the school hosts a Spirit Day to further showcase this point and provide an opportunity for students to act. A worthy cause and corresponding nonprofit organization are selected that are relevant to the community, school or a student/teacher. Students then have the option to bring in a donation and can dress out of uniform.
Saint Columbkille’s first Spirit Day is Friday, October 23, 2020 and will honor all Saint Columbkille Veteran Alumni. Many of the school’s alumni served in the United States Armed Forces and several of the school’s parents currently serve. To thank them, the school is repairing the flag pole on Arlington Street and dedicating it to the Veteran Alumni on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 as part of the Saint Columbkille Partnership School Veterans Day celebration. Proceeds from the first Spirit Day this year will help fund the flag pole repair costs as well as a commemorative plaque.
