On Friday, May 28, fourth graders went on a walk to the Brighton Community Fridge, at the corner of Faneuil Street and Arlington Street near Oak Square. The community fridge is a place to donate food where neighbors can take what they need and leave what they can. This field trip was an action step to finish out a unit on hunger and social awareness answering the question “how can we solve problems in our community?”
One student shared in their reflection: “I brought two loaves of bread. It is important that we fight hunger because 1 in 5 American kids have barely any food, so we need to help them.”
