In April, Grade 8 students spearheaded a supply drive to collect various donations for Boston Health Care for the Homeless. The students assigned specific items, such as toothpaste, soap and hand sanitizer, for each grade to bring in. Once collected, the middle schoolers organized the donations by item to be given to the organization.
"Our theme of the school year is Cura Personalis, so our 8th grade Social Justice students have set out to truly show care for the soul by developing and executing this supply drive for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program," says Grade 8 teacher Mr. Walsh. "Each member of the grade immediately wished to do something after learning the extent of homelessness in our community, and through this drive, the 8th grade has made a positive difference that will be felt by one of Boston's most vulnerable populations."
