The Loyola Academy Class of 2022 graduated from Saint Columbkille Partnership School on Friday, June 3. The 27 students participated in a graduation Mass that morning and held a graduation ceremony that evening. During the school day, younger students celebrated the graduates with a traditional “clap-out” through the halls of the school to say farewell and good luck.
Grade 8 teachers are also proud of their students. Mrs. Fonte, Mr. Walsh and Ms. McShane share their thoughts below.
Emily Fonte, 7th and 8th Grade ELA Teacher
I am so proud of this class and my hope for them is that they continue to pursue the things they are passionate about and carry on their legacy of speaking up for themselves. They have been cheering each other on for years and I hope they maintain the strong bonds they have formed here.
David Walsh, 8th Grade Social Studies and Religion Teacher
I began teaching this class at an incredibly difficult time. Instead of letting the pandemic ruin their experience, this class used the opportunity to grow into an even stronger community, which can be seen every morning they enter school.

My first impression of this 8th grade class was them playing football at recess: including everyone, encouraging each other, challenging each other to be their best self, celebrating successes, and of course laughing! I hope in the future this group of amazing souls continues to encourage each other, challenge each other to be their best selves, celebrate all of the successes I know are ahead, and share many more laughs!
