Grade 6 student Abigail Delahanty, Grade 7 student Jabez Lubega and Grade 8 student Peter Coleman were named April “Loyola Leaders of the Month” (LLM), a program that promotes self-awareness, the Jesuit philosophy, and an opportunity to develop a greater sense of community among the middle school community.
“Abby has earned Loyola Leader this month as she exemplifies the value of Magis,” says Loyola teacher Mrs. Foley-Holmes. “She is kind, caring and courteous with everyone, and always strives to SOAR in everything she does. She strives to challenge herself to do the best she can in everything, from her part in the Aladdin production, to her participation in class and her friendships. We are so proud of her!”
“Jabez is our Loyola leader this month for 7th grade,” says Loyola teacher Mrs. Fonte. “His positivity shines through each day and he shows Cura Personalis by bringing out the light in others as well. Congratulations, Jabez!”
“Peter has been chosen as the Loyola Leader of the Month in recognition of his care for others and the way he takes ownership of his learning,” says Loyola teacher Mr. Walsh. “Peter demonstrates positive attitude, ownership, and Magis through his class participation. He brings new ideas to class discussions, asks thoughtful questions, and helps his classmates. Congratulations, Peter!”
Each month, a student from each grade who have distinguished themselves and exemplify the two core values of Loyola Academy (“Magis” and “Women and men for and with others”) are recognized by the Loyola Academy team. Students also have the opportunity to submit votes for their peers who they feel have shown great strides in becoming a leader in our community.
