Grade 4 Students Participate in All Saints Day

Grade 4 students selected a saint to study and portray for All Saints Day on Friday, November 1. They prepared a short speech with important facts about their saint and dressed up as well. Our 4th grade students helped the rest of the school learn more about all these holy men and women, whom we strive to be like each day. During Mass, grade 4 students also did the readings and wrote the intercessions. After Mass, these students shared their presentations with the rest of the school and church parishioners and they visited each “saint” stationed around the church.

“Children love All Saints Day because it allows them to learn about various Saints throughout the centuries,” says Father Fitzgerald, Pastor at St. Columbkille Church. “It draws them into learning about aspects of the Church’s 2,000 year history while at the same time experiencing that the Saints were people like themselves, trying to love God and neighbor. This then leads to the realization that we are all created by God to become Saints, so that one day in the future we all can be subjects of All Saints Day! We are grateful each year for the participation of our fourth grade students in our Mass for All Saints.”
