Recently, one of our teachers heard about a local math competition. Our school has never participated in a formal math competition before, but we were excited for the challenge! The competition consisted of four different rounds: three individual and one team. Many of our students were brave and jumped at the opportunity to show off all of the hard work they have been putting into the classroom each day. A total of 19 students participated in the competition, and we were so proud of each and every one. Our students persevered through many math challenges independently and then worked collaboratively to complete the team round.
Special congratulations go to our STCPS team for coming in second overall in team play. Students Andrew Su (6th grade) and Jason Zhang (4th grade) scored first place for their grade. Charlotte Minihane (3rd grade) scored in second place for her grade. These three students, as well as 13 others, qualified for the State Level Competition! We are looking forward to the next round of math challenges and can’t wait to explore future competitions!
