Model United Nations

Model United Nations, or Model UN, is an educational simulation where students learn about current events, diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.  Participants will take part in Model UN conferences during the year, and will play the role of delegates.  Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate positions that they will then debate with delegates from other schools.  At the end of a conference, the best-performing delegates are recognized with awards.  Model UN is an excellent activity which teaches research skills, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.  Many secondary schools look favorably on students who participate in Model Un when considering applications.
